AFTER two years of service with the Suva Netball Association, its outgoing president Alumeci Sachs and fellow executive committee members have handed over the reins to the incoming committee.
The association confirmed the handover in a statement acknowledging the work carried out by the outgoing executive committee during their tenure from 2024 to last year.
Stepping in to continue the work built up by Sachs and the committee, the Suva Netball Association has introduced Koila Kabu as its new president.
Assisting her in the role is Josua Qalo as vice-president. The newly-elected treasurer is Hannah Tuikoro and secretary being Unaisi B. Tawake.
The four incoming committee members have extensive experience in netball on and off the court and the association has expressed how the new faces will bring “fresh energy and vision” to continue building on the achievements of the outgoing committee.
Suva Netball also thanked Sachs for the work carried out in the two years as president, where the association was able to secure key sponsorships for the association with major supermarket chain NewWorld and the backer’s increased support.
Sachs continues her work in the netball sphere as part of the Netball Fiji transition committee, a committee set up after the unification of 18 affiliated netball associations to oversee the implementation of a new constitution that has set the wheels of change in motion for the sport.
Meanwhile, the Suva Netball Association is also preparing itself for another season of action across all grades from primary school level to the senior or open grade level.
