After the completion of round five last weekend, the Extra Supermarket Rewa FC continues to lead in the Digicel Fiji Premier League standings, stamping their dominance in the competition.
Rewa is the only team that remains unbeaten in the league with four wins and one draw from their five matches so far.
Their recent match against Navua FC at the Uprising Sports Centre resulted in a narrow 1-0 victory, thanks to Tevita Warainivalu’s last-minute goal that secured three crucial points for the team.
This win further solidifi es Rewa’s position at the top of the table with 13 points. Even though Nadi suffered a 1-5 loss to Lautoka FC, they still hold the second position with 10 points, having won three matches, drawn one, and lost one.
Lautoka bounced back from their previous defeat to Labasa with an impressive 5-1 win over Nadi, with goals from Zibraaz Sahib, Usman Omede, Muni Shivam, Saula Waqa, and Sakaraia Naisua. Eroni Matau scored the only goal for Nadi.
Following a 1-0 victory over Rooster Chicken Ba FC, Sugar Taxis/Pacifika Rentals /Nadroga Auto Marine Upholstery Works Nadroga FC climbed up to the third position in the standings.
Labasa FC also moved up the ladder to fourth place after a 2-1 win over Tailevu Naitasiri with goals from Rusiate Doidoi and Christopher Wasasala. France Catarogo scored for Tailevu Naitasiri.
Suva FC secured a 2-1 victory over Nasinu, with Waisake Navunigasau and Bruce Hughes nding the net for the Capital City side.
This win helped Suva climb to the eighth position in the league.
Nasinu remains at the bottom of the points table, still searching for their first win of the season.
The round six of games will commence this weekend.
