SOME decision making on issues affecting ratepayers are referred to the Ministry of Local Government by the administrators and chief executive officers of municipalities. Minister for Local Government, Housing, Environment, Infrastructure and Transport Praveen Kumar clarified this in Parliament today.
This was after the first oral question posed by opposition member of parliament Prem Singh.
Mr Singh had questioned whether or not administrators and chief executive officers of the municipalities refer to the ministry for decision making on issues affecting ratepayers and their respective workforce.
Mr Kumar replied in some cases yes they do.
