A MAN charged with a count each of rape, criminal intimidation, false information to public servant, escape from lawful custody and serious assault has been remanded by the High Court in Suva.
It is alleged that Wise Ezekiel Lagilevu, 29, raped a 20-year-old girl on December 13, 2018, in Suva.
State lawyer Eoghan Samisoni has sought 21 days to file information and disclosures.
Mr Lagilevu asked the court to make an order for him to be taken to the police station where he could contact his family.
Judge Justice Vinsent Perera told Mr Lagilevu to make a request to the remand officer to contact his family as he will not make such orders.
The case has been adjourned to February 20, for plea.
