Police: Plan travel ahead of time

MEMBERS of the public have been advised that traffic officers will be deployed at 4pm along Ratu Sukuna Rd, MacGregor Rd, Flagstaff and Laucala Bay Rd towards the University of the South Pacific for the New Zealand Prime Minister’s last official function in Suva.

Police spokeswoman Ana Naisoro said once traffic officers were deployed on roads, people could expect temporary road closures to be implemented.

“We request for co-operation during these times and ask that alternative routes be considered or travel is accommodated ahead of time,” she said.

Travel route:

8.45am – Traffic officers will be deployed along Victoria Pde, Ratu Cakobau Rd, Denison Rd, Service St and Ratu Sukuna Rd as the New Zealand Prime Minister will be meeting the secretary-general of the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat.

9.30am – Traffic officers will control movement along the same roads as the NZ Prime Minister returns to the Grand Pacific Hotel.

1.30pm – Officers will be deployed along Ratu Sukuna Rd into Laucala Bay Rd, Flagstaff, Rewa St towards Suva Primary School, up Princes Rd, Wairua and Lady Narain Drive for the NZ Prime Minister’s official visit to RISE project in Tamavua-i-wai.

4.00pm – along Ratu Sukuna Road, McGregor Road, Flagstaff and down Laucala Bay Road towards the University of the South Pacific for her last official function of the day.
