A couple from Navilawa, Ba, are believed to have drowned after they were swept away by strong currents on Sunday afternoon.
Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro said the couple were attempting to cross the Navilawa River with another man.
“The 28-year-old (woman), while crossing the river with her husband and another man, were swept away by strong current and was later found between rocks 150 metres away from where they crossed,” said Ms Naisoro.
“The search continues for her husband.”
Investigations into the incident continue.
