AUSTRALIAN Prime Minister Scott Morrison arrives into the country today.

Mr Morrison lands in Nausori at 11.30am and will head to the Grand Pacific Hotel in the capital city where a traditional welcome ceremony will be performed for him.

There will be no road closures, it has been stated.

The Australian PM will then pay a courtesy visit to the President, Jioji Konrote, at the Borron House at 3pm.

Mr Morrison will be the first Australian government head to make an official bilateral visit to Fiji.

Former Australian Prime Minister John Howard was the last Australian PM in Fiji in 2006 for a meeting of the Pacific Islands Forum.

The bilateral meeting takes place at 3.45pm at the Cabinet Chambers of the Office of the Prime Minister at 3.45pm.

He will then attend a wreath-laying ceremony at the National War Memorial at Veiuto.

The day finishes with a welcoming reception and official dinner hosted by Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama at the GPH at 7pm.
