Pacific Nations Cup: Flying Fijians out to maintain ranking

FIJI Airways Flying Fijian coach John McKee says the side needs to beat Tonga to maintain its number ranking in the Pacific.

The side defeated Samoa in the Pacific Nations Cup opening game then later trounced Georgia last week to win the title.

McKee said the side must beat the powerful and physical Tongan outfit to maintain its status as the best in the region.

He said the side would play the trademark open and free flowing game at the same time be brutal and aggressive in defence.

‘The Tongans will run hard and direct at us and we need to up the challenge.’

‘At the same time we will try and open up the game and to have a discipline defensive game,’ said McKee.

The game will be held at Lautoka’s Churchill Park, 3pm.
