Oceania Hospitals Pte Ltd has implemented BSP’s Internet Payment Gateway online payment portal to enhance its capability to accept payments via its website for medical services.
According to a statement, OHPL’s acting general manager Murgessan Pillay (Morgan) confirmed patients could now settle medical costs online seamlessly using either a BSP EasyCard or any VISA card.
This facility would also benefit from the facilitation of telehealth services, a new initiative that Oceania Hospitals had been planning for early 2022.
“We are delighted to offer this more convenient and cost-effective payment option to help ease patients’ access to much needed medical treatments in a timely manner,” he said.
“We face challenges where customers arrive at the hospital requiring urgent care and relatives are tasked with organising funds to meet hospital costs.
“The BSP IPG also offers relatives a more seamless channel to pay the hospital directly whether they are in Fiji or abroad.”
OHPL stated it was grateful for BSP’s latest offering, which expands its suite of payment options for the added convenience of its patrons.
A media statement from the company said BSP deployed its IPG solution earlier this year to help online businesses keep up with the surging demand for an end to end online shopping experience because of the COVID situation.
BSP country head Haroon Ali said they were delighted to support Oceania Hospitals’ goal of providing premium medical care by facilitating online payments for BSP EasyCard and any VISA cardholders regardless of where they may be.
He emphasised security was of paramount importance in developing this solution.
“Our robust and secure IPG platform includes a 2-factor authentication protocol that protects the cardholder,” said Mr Ali.
Oceania Hospital has been operating in Fiji since 2001 with BSP Life as its major shareholder, according to the statement.
