BEING chosen to take part in this training is a reflection of our faith in your ability to dish out directives and deliver lectures and align the officers under your command to the Commissioner’s intent in terms of driving the institution forward.

These were the word of Deputy Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu while opening the one-month training targeting drill instructors which is an integral component of policing operations.

“We need a lot of instructor’s however our focus is not only quantity but quality that can be in line with the organizational standard of discipline,” DCP Tudravu said.

He shared his concerns about the importance of maintaining the same standard of discipline.

“You are going to be taught a standard here at the Academy, what we need from you is to maintain the same standard when you return to your Unit or Station”.

“Don’t let your environment influence the standard of your work as an instructor, your job is to uplift the standard of discipline to meet what is required by the organization and this does not change whether you are serving in an urban or rural area”.

Twenty-one police officers from around Fiji are currently undertaking which is being held at the Fiji Police Academy.
