NAURU national men’s 7s team coach Dagan Kaierua believes the side is in a better place at this years Oceania Sevens Championship. “We have prepared well and I believe our players are ready,” Kaierua said.

“Last year the game was still fairly new for most of our players, but I believe we are ready to do business this year.”

Nauru is pooled in Pool C with Australia, Tonga, American Samoa and Vanuatu.

“We are in a strong pool, but will look to put on a great challenge for the teams in our pool, especially Vanuatu and American Samoa. The team arrived in the country on Monday and trained in Nadi prior to joining the Oceania 7s camp in Suva yesterday.

“We had some good sessions up in Nadi with the Yamacia Rugby Club.

“We all love rugby and cannot wait to deliver some quality games this weekend.”

Nauru first game is against American Samoa at 3.02pm at the ANZ Stadium in Suva today.
