New Zealand native Ryan Daniel DeVos who has made Fiji home for the past 20 years, believes that the Drua, with their unbeaten record at home, will prove to be a formidable opponent.

The managing director of DeVos on the park sees the upcoming game against the Hurricanes as a crucial test that will determine the Drua’s standing in the season.

“Looking at the game against the Hurricanes is probably the biggest game of the season, it’s basically going to show where they’re now in my opinion,” said DeVos.

“The match is likely to be intense and fast-paced, with both teams having strong players and a lot at stake.

“My family in New Zealand and Fiji are really looking forward for the match.”

He highlights the importance of discipline for the Drua and emphasizes that winning this game could significantly impact their season.

“I think its anyone’s game but for the Drua if they win, it will change the whole outcome of the season, and their discipline is going to be the main thing.

As the game will be played in Suva at night, he expects a different atmosphere compared to the previous matches in Lautoka.

DeVos, who is personally invested in both New Zealand and Fijian rugby, is excited to see how the match unfolds and hopes for a strong showing from the Drua.

I would like to encourage all the fans to come out show their support for the team and create a lively atmosphere at the game, Toso Drua Toso.

The Drua hosts the undefeated Hurricanes on Friday, 7.05pm at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
