Nemani Sema made waves on day two of the Ratu Kadavulevu School inter-house competition yesterday.

He broke the school record in the intermediate javelin event for Ma’afu House.

The new student had an impressive throw of 55.08 metres, surpassing the record of 48.03m set by Vilimoni Susunikoro last year.

This achievement has marked him as a rising star in the field competition, and he is determined to continue excelling.

As a Year 11 student, he is focused on his athletic endeavours and is grateful for the opportunity to represent RKS.

“It is an amazing experience coming and participating in a big school like RKS, it is still a learning experience for me,” said Sema.

He has been dedicated to his training, often practicing after school to maintain his fitness and hone his skills.

Sema is set to compete in national schools’ competition in the javelin and discuss events, with the goal of securing gold medals for his new school.

Transitioning from Vunisea Secondary School on Kadavu and embracing the new environment at RKS, Sema is grateful for the warm reception he has received from his fellow students.

“It is a new environment for me and I’m really blending in with the students which I’m really thankful and glad.”

The inter-house competition ends today.
