New job for Naba

FORMER Fiji 7s captain and Police 7s coach Etonia Naba is excited on his new coaching role.

The Nadroga native who took over from Manasa Bari the winning Police coach in last year’s Bayleys Fiji Coral Coast 7s title, said he was looking forward to his new role.

He said his passion for the game motivated him to take up the coaching job.

“This is a new journey for my rugby career and I am happy to share my knowledge with the young players,” said Naba.

“I have been playing rugby for the past 30 years and I wanted to fully utilise my rugby talents in guiding the young players to become better players.”

And in his first coaching assignment, the former Nadroga flanker has done wonders for his Police team helping the side to qualify for today’s semi-final.

He said his aim was to make this coaching debut a memorable one and to successfully guide the Police 7s team to win the Coral Coast 7s for two years in a row.

Naba said he had faith in his players and was confident of a good outing.

“Like all other coaches I have faith in my players and my target is to guide them to fulfil our goal,” he added.
