FOOTBALL fans across the country can look forward to another showdown of football skills, talent and tough competition with the upcoming 2026 FMF Inter District Championship (IDC) next month.
The pools for the 2026 IDC have been confirmed setting the stage for six days of intense football competition at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva from October 6-11.
The super premier division has produced two evenly matched pools, with four teams in each group.
Pool A is considered pool of death as it features Labasa, Rewa, Suva and Nasinu, while Pool B consists of Ba, Lautoka, Navua and Nadi.
The draw sets up several intriguing district match-ups, with teams looking to secure their places in the knockout stages.
In the senior division, Pool A comprises Lami, Northland Tailevu, Bua and Dreketi. Pool B has Rakiraki, Savusavu, Nadogo and Taveuni n will see Nadroga, Seaqaqa and Kiribati compete in Pool A while Tailevu Naitasiri, Tavua and Fiji under-17 is in Pool B.
Kiribati’s inclusion adds international dimension to this year’s competition, with the side set to make its first appearance at the IDC.
The tournament will provide Kiribati with an opportunity to test itself against Fiji district sides while also giving local supporters a chance to see a new team compete on the national stage.
Meanwhile, all eyes will be on the Men in Black from Ba as they ride into the Capital City hoping to add a fourth trophy to their cabinet after winning the Extra Premier League, the 2026 BiC Fiji FACT and the Extra Battle of Giants earlier this month.
