FIJI Ports Terminal Ltd (FPTL) chairman Hasmukh Patel this afternoon officially received four units of quality container handling equipment at the Suva Ports Terminal from executives of renowned cargo equipment manufacturer, Kalmar Australia Ltd.

“We have procured three state-of-the-art Reach Stackers and a seven-high Empty Handler from Kalmar at a total value of $F4.3 million,” Mr Patel said.

He said the procurement was part of the company’s container handling machinery replacement plan.

He said FPTL was also highly conscious of the environmental impacts of their operations and these new machines would greatly assist in the transforming and development of Fiji ports towards the Green Ports Concept.

Mr Patel thanked the Kalmar Australia team of director Michael Wahab and product specialist Paul Thompson for the wonderful machinery and the technical assistance and support.
