NEAR-zero weather temperatures, a 12-hour direct flight away from Nadi, five legs into the series and a clock ticking to kick-off, the Fiji Airways Fiji men’s 7s team knows the task ahead for the Vancouver 7s is a united one: do the job and do it well.

Since reaching the City of Glass last weekend, it has been a devotion strictly to business for the Osea Kolinisau coached team, as the 14 sevens gladiators prepare to mount their defence against a hungry pool of teams willing to risk it all.

The team to Canada features a majority of established players and potential debutant Akuila Dranivotua, who adds this stint to his fledging professional rugby career.

Kolinisau laid bare how dire the straits would be once they run onto the field at BC Place.

“It’s not easy being number one; there’s a lot of things that can go wrong,” Kolinisau told the media via a virtual press conference yesterday.
