The Suva Netball Association is gearing up for its first NewWorld IGA Mixed Netball tournament of the year, set to begin on February 20.
With 36 teams expected to participate, excitement is building for what promises to be an action-packed and competitive event.
The tournament will run for eight weeks, taking place on Tuesdays and Thursdays; the registration fee is $350 per team with 20 players and will close on February 9.
Dominiko Tabuaura, the association’s secretary, is optimistic about the upcoming tournament and is hoping for an even more successful competition than last year.
He emphasised the association’s focus on developing the skills and abilities of all players, and to work on the young players to gain more experience in the sport.
“It is a new year with new beginnings as we start our first business house tournament; we are expecting a lot of new and young talents,” said Tabuaura.
“The 2023 season was a great success for Suva Netball, where nine players were chosen to represent the nation at the Netball World Cup. This year, we are looking for more talented players,” he added.
The association is extending its invitation to all teams to come and participate in the tournament, with a special emphasis on encouraging young players to join and showcase their talent.
