BOXER Siliveni Nawai is eager to stamp his mark on the international scene when he faces New Zealander Beau O’Brien in a World Boxing Foundation title contest next month.
He said hard work and sacrifice had paid off after being given the greenlight for the world title fight.
The Nadi lad who has won all his 11 professional fights of which eights were by way of knockouts said he needed to be at the top of his game against O’Brien. He said this would be a huge test for his boxing career and a stepping stone to realise his dream.
“It has always been my dream to one day fight in a world title contest,” said Nawai.
“This is a huge challenge for me and a golden opportunity to stamp my mark. It is an honour to represent my country in a world title contest and I am confident of a good outing.”
Nawai said he had been training twice a day in his effort to win his first title. He thanked his sponsor Mana Flyer, team manager Chanchal Kumar and his role model dad Ulaiasi Neivogo who was also a boxer for their commitment in helping him to be the man he is today.
