THE Suva women’s team’s eight match winning streak came to a disappointing end as the team were overpowered 43-17 by Nasinu in the final round of the Subrails Marama Championship last Saturday at the Upraising grounds at Pacific Harbour.

After the match Suva’s vice captain Sera Tagimaiwasa said Nasinu was the better team on day and gave them a reality check heading into the quarter-finals.

“It was a really good game Nasinu came out really strong so hats off to them, and they’ve showed us what we need to work on for our next game,” she said.

The capital side has always dominated with ball in hand throughout this season, but Tagimaiwasa believes playing without the ball will be the side’s greatest work on heading into the quarters this weekend.

“Our major work-on is our defence Nasinu has showed us that and yes that’s our main work on,” she stressed.

The side will regroup and begin their quarter-final preparations today and Tagimaiwasa has assured their fans they team will come back stronger this week as they eye a semi-final spot in the competition.
