THE plans for the proposed Nabouwalu township in Bua is now with the Department of Town and Country Planning and is being worked on, says Roko Tui Bua Sivo Nadumu.
Mr Nadumu made the comment in an interview with The Fiji Times at the Bua Provincial Council meeting held at the Tanoa Plaza Hotel in Suva late this afternoon.
“The Town and Country Planning will brief us on the date of the start of the civil works at Nabouwalu according to their plans and we are all looking forward to that,” he said.
Mr Nadumu said after the department would transfer the development lease to the TLTB, they would consider the council’s tender for nine commercial lots for the tikina and three for the council as a priority.
“The TLTB has even told us to start fundraising to pay for the lots, which will cost $40,000 each and that’s what we have been doing in the last Adi Bua Festival and we are having another fundraiser this year.”
He said the council meeting started at Nabouwalu on Tuesday and they decided to move the meeting to Suva where the issue of the township would be discussed in detail for the benefit of the people of Bua living in Suva.
