Parents doing back to school shopping say they are grateful for Government’s $200 per student back to school cash support because the price of most items have significantly increased.
Alisi Nabuli, a mother of three, said while she was grateful for the timely back to school assistance by the Government, the price of stationery and other school items was concerning.
The Tabia native said while many shops advertised discounts and specials for stationery, the prices compared to previous years were quite high.
Ms Nabuli said she had received two out of her three children had received the cash assistance.
“The government assistance has really helped me and my husband,” Ms Nabuli said.
“Imagine with these high prices if we had to pay from our own pockets, it would have been a struggle.”
Her two elder children will be in years 6 and 4 while the youngest is set to begin pre-school this year.
