The Ministry of Rural and Maritime Development and Disaster Management experienced an increase in staff resignations over the past three years, rising from 2 per cent to 5 per cent.
Minister Sakiasi Ditoka said this while responding to a question in Parliament on his ministry’s progress with budget implementation.
He said resignations were mainly due to better offers from other line ministries, including regional organisations, who offered much better salaries and benefits because of the nature of work they do in the ministry.
