Mobile command team deployed to densely-populated Raiwaqa area

Fiji’s Police Special Response Unit (PSRU) mobile command team has set up its operations in Raiwaqa near the Jittu Estate settlement as the second phase of the mobile operations comes into force.

Police say the concept that was initially trialed at Mead Road in Nabua where the Mobile Command Unit was deployed to densely-populated areas to support ongoing operational efforts on the ground.

“While the Mobile Command Unit has pulled out from Mead Road, a small team is still operating in the area,” Police said in its report posted on its social media page.

“The team will complement the existing work conducted by the Southern Division Operations and will work with community policing in working with members of nearby communities in strengthening crime prevention efforts.”
