FIJI’S Minister for Industry, Trade, Tourism, and Housing and Community Development Premila Kumar challenged a panel discussion on housing and real estate pricing today to come up with a report to assist the housing industry in Fiji move forward from where it is today.

The Minister made the call at a workshop on ‘Public perception on quality and affordability in the housing sector in Fiji’.

“If we got to focus on law and order, we got to do things in the right way,” Mrs Kumar said as she referred to unscrupulous dealers within the housing and real estate sector.

She challenged the workshop delegates on the compliance of law within the real estate sector, which was something the Government intended to capture and to improve pricing.

She encouraged consumers to visit the authorities with questions and complaints.
