It’s about time Fiji has a minimum speed limit on the highways.
The minimum speed stretches can be identified and drivers will be alerted that they are entering a minimum speed limit corridor. And at the end they will be alerted they are leaving the minimum speed limit area.
There have been times when I drove from Nadi airport to Lautoka and cars in front think the road belong to their father and they drive so slow that they hold up traffic.
Oh, of course you can drive slow but go to the left and give way to following vehicles.
For the drivers who have no destination and are just having a leisurely drive, remember there are people who are on duty, going to meet clients, delivering things, going to meetings, going to the airport to catch a flight, on their way to pick up children and many more.
If you are a slow driver, please do think of people like me who have a purpose for being on the road.
These slow drivers cause traffic jams and high blood pressure in other drivers; they also cause road rage which ends up with the middle finger wave.
And we wonder why the West has so many road accidents!
