THE Fiji Airways Drua coach Senirusi Seruvakula has a few tricks under his sleeves to counter the rampaging Brisbane City in Lautoka this afternoon.
Seruvakula has been working tirelessly at training sessions to get his players tuned up mentally and physically for the Aussies.
And to thrust his side’s attacking prowess, Seruvakula has selected a powerful side with a mind game approach to secure his second win of the season. S
Seruvakula said the Aussies would target his forwards. “We reviewed our game last week and found that our set-pieces needed to be improved,” said Seruvakula.
“We need to improve on our line-out and the scrums, especially the timing.”
He said their opponents would field some big names, and Super Rugby players such as former Wallabies’ Quade Cooper.
“We just have to do the process well and think of the players we are up against and the importance of how we train because that is how we are going to play.
“We will play according to our game pattern. If we can stick to that we can be untouchable in this competition. There are some stronger teams in the competition and they have reviewed our game well and will try to contain us.” He said the abundance of talents in the squad would work to their favour.
“There has been a change in the front row because the rest of the guys in the team have been knocking hard on the door. There is a lot of competition in the team which is good for the coaches.
“The bonding is stronger and the senior boys are leading by example.”
Seruvakula said the players had been urged to play their best in front of home fans.”
The game will be held at Lautoka’s Churchill Park at 3pm.
