Dayals Sawmillers Ba Football Club president Praneel Dayal says a victory at the 2025 FMF Inter-District Championship (IDC) will be the perfect way to restore the district’s football glory.
The tournament kicks off on Tuesday at 4R Stadium, Govind Park in Ba, with the Men in Black taking on Navua in the final match of the opening day at 8pm.
Dayal, who has been in office for only a few months, said player welfare has been his top priority.
“When I took over office, I had a lot of plans, and one of the main things is players’ welfare. It’s very important that we look after the players well. Now we see players are happy.
“Ba’s performance had been going down in recent years, and this is the time for us to rise and improve. I invite all Ba fans to come out in numbers and support. Let’s get Ba back to where it belongs,” he said.
Former Ba legend Semi Tabaiwalu echoed the call, saying the players now carry the responsibility to deliver.
“The boys should play with district pride. President Praneel Dayal has done a lot for them, now the onus is on the players to give their 100 per cent.
“We need this win,” Tabaiwalu said.
