With the lifting of domestic travel restrictions and removal of containment borders, people are now more than eager to travel and reunite with family and friends.

Keeping this in mind, businesses along the Coral Coast and other areas are reopening with some new investments being made in fast food and takeaway businesses.

Recently opened Wrap n Go Restaurant in Cuvu, Sigatoka, is gradually gaining attention of the community and travelers.

Operating under Rovil’s Enterprises, the restaurant on wheels is the brainchild of brothers – Rovil Singh, who is the president of the Nadroga Navosa DCOSS and National Sanatan Youth – and his younger brother Shozil Singh.

Coming from a family that has operated a business in Cuvu for a long time, Mr Singh said the restaurant was also their initiative to promote healthy living and healthy eating practices in the community.

“We would love to give the best delicious mouthwatering and very affordable food with less fat to promote a healthy living and eating habits, concentrating on reducing NCDs.

“We also do free delivery to the people of Cuvu focusing on these senior citizens and people with special needs.”

Mr Singh said it took them about five months to set up the caravan plan and put it into action, taking into consideration the financial situation of the people in the community.

“Currently we have two staff members and family members working together to drive and shake this delicious food on the wheels.

“We have on our menu delicious mouthwatering crispy fish and chips, crispy or grilled chicken and barbecue with fresh lettuce and cucumber with fruits. We also offer fresh fruit juice, chicken subs and pizza as well.”

Cuvu has a beautiful white sandy beach which is quite popular with the Cuvu community and people from other areas too.

With people coming to the beach from all over the area, Mr Singh said their restaurant on wheels was just the right idea to cater for the needs of those on picnic.

With the pandemic affecting jobs and income, Mr Singh said he was aware of the impact it had on people.

“I do agree people lost jobs and at times do not get good and tasty foods at affordable prices. So with the restaurant we plan to go to the grassroot level to offer our community the best quality food at affordable prices.

“So far you can observe businesses are picking up slowly but we need something like this is Sigatoka.

“We would love to extend to a grill and bar in the coming future with plans to open a gym as well for our community wellness awareness and healthy lifestyles. I am very much pleased with the kind support and help from our people of Cuvu and business to keep on and keeping on with the beautification of Cuvu and developments.”
