A THREE-member delegation from the College of the Marshall Islands is on a week-long official visit to the Fiji National University (FNU) holding discussions and visiting campuses.

According to a statement from the FNU, it is working with the College of Marshall Islands (CMI) to explore potential areas of collaboration in vocational and skills training areas between the two education institutions.

The team includes Dr Elizabeth K Switaj – vice president for Academic and Student Affairs, Stevenson Kotton – vice president for Business and Administration Affairs, and Manny Mottelang – Learning Designer from College of Marshall Islands.

“This visit is part of our mission ‘to provide access to quality student-centered post-secondary educational services to the Marshallese people. We are here with four objectives and one of them it is to build a mutually beneficial partnership between FNU and CMI,” said Dr Switaj in the statement.

“We will also explore potential articulation agreements between CMI and FNU in nursing, medical services, technical and vocational skills training, and business studies, which will, in turn, lead to greater enrollment for FNU,” she said.
