Low pressure over east Fiji

Update: 1:17PM A WEAK trough of low pressure with associated cloud and showers lies over the eastern parts of the Fiji group.

The weather bulletin issued from the National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi at 9:39am this morning also reveals that another trough of low pressure lies to the far north of Fiji which is expected to gradually drift south and affect the northern and eastern parts of the group from tomorrow.

As for the forecast to midnight tomorrow for the Fiji group there will be occasional showers and few thunderstorms over Vanua Levu, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, Lau and Lomaiviti group, the eastern parts and interior of the larger islands.

Members of the public are also advised to expect isolated heavy falls.

A strong wind warning is also now in force for Southwest Viti Levu waters, Kadavau and Vatu-i-ra passages. Southeast winds 20 to 25 knots with rough seas.
