Lautoka municipal market will be closed from 12pm today.
Lautoka City Council chief executive officer Mohammed Khan said the council would review its decision to open on Saturday from the aftermath of the cyclone and its devastating impact.
Mr Khan said if there’s extensive damage to market infrastructure which could endanger and put lives and property at risk, then the council would be closed till further notice.
He said all market vendors in the three market complex and those at Tavakubu market have been reminded to remove their market produce and stocks from the market vicinity.
Mr Khan said the council would not be liable to any damage or loss incurred during Tropical Cyclone Yasa.
