Labour get $146k in gifts

The Fiji Labour Party (FLP) received $146,564 in gifts, according to its accounts as of December 31, 2022 that was submitted to the Fijian Elections Office.

FLP had a total income of $186,728 and total expenses of $139,062, resulting in a profit of $47,666 for the year.

This information has been submitted to the Fijian Elections Office as required under the Political Parties (Registration, Conduct, and Funding & Disclosures) Act, 2013.

FLP’s major expenses were $60,908 related to the elections, $44,000 that was paid to the Fijian Elections Office as candidate levy, $14,899 on legal fees and costs and $10,805 as office rent.

The party has declared it had $50,326 in a Bank of Baroda account.

The Fiji Labour Party said it received $55 in members’ fee and subscriptions.

FLP states in the accounts it has 8271 members when it was registered on May 2, 2013.
