DAYALS Sawmillers Ba Football Club recently announced a major reshuffle in its technical team with Ravinesh Kumar appointed as the new head coach.
The appointment to the role was implemented immediately.
The decision was confirmed in a statement by Ba FC president Praneel Dayal, who said the change was made after careful consideration of the team’s direction and performance standards.
Having previously served as director of football, Kumar, steps into the top coaching role with immediate effect as the club looks to reset and strengthen its campaign.
“As your president, it’s my job to make sure Ba Football keeps moving forward. We have incredibly high standards to live up to, and sometimes that means making tough calls to keep everyone accountable to the jersey,” Dayal said.
He also acknowledged the contribution of outgoing head coach Shalen Lal, confirming that while he has stepped down from the head coach role, he would remain with the club as assistant coach.
“Shalen is a true son of Ba. His commitment and loyalty to this team are immense, and this shift isn’t a reflection of his capability,” Dayal said.
“Because Shalen cares so much about this club, he has humbly agreed to stay on as our assistant coach. His connection with the boys and his understanding of Ba’s football culture are incredibly valuable.”
Dayal stressed that the decision was made to bring “a fresh perspective” to the squad, while maintaining continuity within the coaching setup.
He called on supporters to rally behind the new structure as the club moves through this transition period.
“Let’s get behind Ravinesh in his new role, keep supporting Shalen, and rally around the boys. Together, we’ll get through this transition and keep pushing for the results our district deserves.”
The club says it remains focused on improving performances and upholding its strong football traditions as the season continues.
