The Komo cricket team is striving to secure a top two position in the Easter Cricket tournament.

Having completed four matches, they have experienced a mix of results.

They clinched victories in their first two matches against Suva Crusaders and Ono-I-Lau by five and one wickets respectively.

However, they faced a setback against Kabara, losing by 16 runs, and settled for a draw against the Cicia team yesterday.

Captain Saimoni Tuitoga expressed satisfaction with the team’s performance thus far and is eager for their upcoming final pool game.

“The team comprises a combination of police officers and local players from the village of Komo in the Lau islands.

“Our main aim is to emerge victorious in the tournament, give our all, and enjoy the game.

“Despite weather conditions, the team managed to deliver their best on the field, the players greatly enjoy the opportunity to travel to the mainland and participate in cricket matches.

“We are thankful for the support and prayers we receive from their families and friends back home, hoping to make them proud.”

The Easter Cricket tournament will conclude on Monday.
