INMATES and officers of the Fiji Corrections Service participated in a nationwide roadside clean-up campaign today.

This was part of the civic pride exercise for inmates and officers.

FCS deputy commissioner Senior Superintendent Apimeleki Taukei said this was all part and parcel of programs they had in place for the Yellow Ribbon Walk that was scheduled for October 12 in Lautoka.

“This morning’s exercise was good for all of us, especially for those under our care as such an undertaking helps instill pride by keeping our communities clean,” Mr Taukei said.

He added the annual Yellow Ribbon Walk would be held for the first time in the Western Division in response to the high offending rate experienced in the division in the last eight months.
