FORMER Fiji welterweight champion Winston Hill has opened the door to a comeback in the ring after local knockout artist Isikeli ‘The Bullet’ Senidoko publicly challenged him following his victory over Filise Nabua.
Hill, who retired from the sport to focus on business and family life, admitted the challenge caught him by surprise as he watched the fight from the crowd.
“Senidoko has a very interesting character in local professional boxing,” Hill said.
“He lacks discipline but comes out with raw talent and ability.”
Hill said he simply acknowledged the challenge with a wave but stressed that any decision to fight would first be discussed with his wife and management team.
While content with life outside the ring, the former champion remains confident he has what it takes to beat the rising contender.
“I wouldn’t say it’s going to be hard. It’s going to be an easy fight, a walk in the park,” Hill said.
“I don’t even need to fight Senidoko under the bright lights in front of a big crowd. I can invite him to my gym, we can put on the boxing gloves and I’ll give him an … whooping. It’s as easy as that.”
Hill admitted he was “a little out of shape” but believed he would still have too much class and experience for Senidoko.
No agreement has been reached, with Hill confirming no contracts have been signed.
“The money has to make sense,” he said.
“The boxing business has to get me out of retirement. I don’t have any urgency or need to fight Senidoko. It’s what he wants and what the people want to see, but it’s not on my priority list.”
However, Hill said should both camps eventually reach an agreement, he would fully commit to training.
“If we do sign the contract, then I’ll be taking it seriously and he’ll have to get very serious if we are to fight.”
