NASINU magistrate Penijamini Lomaloma has transferred to the High Court in Suva the case of a 45-year-old man who allegedly fatally assaulted a 38-year-old man at Sakoca on Sunday morning.

Sailosi Senilawalawa is charged with one count of murder and two of assault causing bodily harm.

The State has served first phase disclosures.

Mr Lomaloma issued an interim domestic violence restraining order against Mr Senilawalawa who has been further remanded in custody.

The case is adjourned to May 3.

Meanwhile, a 29-year-old farmer from Tailevu, who unlawfully obtained $402 meant for Back to School Assistance via M-PAISA transfer, was convicted by the Suva Magistrate’s Court yesterday.

Lice Litia Mudunabole was charged with obtaining financial advantage by deception.

The money was intended for Naomi Ravukivuki who has two children attending primary school.

The incident occurred on January 9 when Ms Ravukivuki’s husband reported there had been an unlawful transfer to Ms Mudunabole.

Meanwhile, her lawyer had requested the court for more time to file a written mitigation.

This was granted and bail had been extended with the case to be called again on May 8
