A heavy rain alert is now in force for the southern and eastern parts of Viti Levu, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands, as well as the Lau and Lomaiviti groups.
A trough of low pressure, accompanied by cloud and showers, is expected to approach from the south and begin affecting the southern and eastern divisions from later tonight.
Forecast for Southern & Eastern Viti Levu, Kadavu, nearby smaller islands, Lau and Lomaiviti is for cloudy periods with brief showers, increasing in frequency later tonight as the system moves closer to Fiji.
