Fundraiser to support Save the Children Fiji

Listen to this article:

MORE than $2000 was collected by Save the Children Fiji during a fundraiser that was hosted last week at the Life Cinema in Nakasi.

The fundraiser was an initiative to support Save the Children Fiji’s programming work in Fiji.

Save the Children CEO Iris Low-McKenzie, said even though all the tickets could not be sold, there was a good turnout from the children and their parents.

She said Save the Children Fiji would continue with various fundraising initiatives this year.

“We will continue to have fundraising initiatives this year, another movie night planned in September at Damodar Cinemas and a Golf Tournament in October,” she said.

“Save the Children needs fund to support our core costs which project funds are not able to cater for.”

She added funds were needed to be raised locally, therefore the funds raised from the movie night was to support the core costs and other programs that Save the Children Fiji did not have funding for.
