Four men arrested and charged in inter-island vessel drug raid

A DRUG raid on an inter-island vessel that returned from Kadavu on Friday resulted in the arrest of two farmers following the discovery of stems of dried leaves later tested to be marijuana.

Police say the two men have been charged with one count each of unlawful possession of illicit drugs were produced at the Suva Magistrates Court today.

“Also arrested during the raid were two men in their twenties from Nadera and Nakasi after they were allegedly found with stems of dried leaves and some loose dried leaves confirmed to be marijuana,” Police said.

“Both suspects have been charged with one count  of unlawful possession of illicit drugs and will appear in court today.”
