IT is that time of the year when people buy gifts for their loved ones in the spirit of Christmas.
But a young man decided to buy something for himself — a remote controlled helicopter.
The man could not test the toy because it was night-time when he reached home, so it was something he decided to do the next morning.
He called his mother out of the house early the next morning to watch him fly the helicopter using the remote control, without reading the operating manual.
Beachcomber heard that the helicopter had just taken off when its owner pressed a button that saw the craft go higher and farther away and then disappear.
Almost in tears, the young man paid some village boys to look for the helicopter, but they could not find it despite searching for hours.
Much to the young man’s relief, it was found by a friend still in the same condition it was in when it had its first flight.
Beachcomber heard that the young man is now ready to teach others, including his boss, how to operate the craft.
Guess he read the operating manual properly after all!
