FORTY probation firefighters passed out at Togalevu Naval Base earlier this week.
National Fire Authority chief fire officer, Qionilau Moceitai said the new recruits would be on probation for one year.
“We need to recruit more fire fighters because plans are underway to build more fire stations around the country.
“With our new roles we have in providing medical assistance like providing ambulance services during fire incidences and it will strengthen the role Government has bestowed on us,” he added.
