DIVINE Fijians Santa Rosa Netball club is stepping up preparations for this weekend’s USA Netball National State Championship and Premier League Rally in Estero, Florida.
The club will field women’s and mixed teams, with the women’s side returning as defending champions.
Club president Mereoni Lutuciri said both teams were determined to perform at their best while representing the Fijian community in the United States.
“Our women’s and mixed teams are ready and determined to compete at their highest level and make the Fijian diaspora proud,” Lutuciri said.
She said the women’s team understood the responsibility of defending its title, while both teams would represent their club, families and heritage with discipline and pride.
As part of preparations, the club held a uniform handover ceremony attended by Fiji’s Minister for Education Aseri Radrodro and Divine Fiji Home Care Agency chief executive officer Poasa Koroitamana.
Lutuciri said the support from the community and Divine Fiji Home Care Agency had strengthened the club’s preparations.
The tournament will also provide an opportunity to promote Fijian netball and showcase Fijian and Pacific athletes in the United States.
The tournament will be held from August 14-16, 2026.
