The buzz on social media after the wedding was the sighting of a ‘Pasifika’ woman as one of the guests at the event.
When New Zealand-based Tagata Pasifika confirmed the mystery woman was from Fiji, Pacific Islanders were exuberant and “bursting with pride” in their response.
The woman was also admired for wearing earrings that had a Pacific touch, designed by New Zealand-based jeweller Shehana Kimiangatau.
Identified as Ellen Miller-Alexander, she is married to a Fijian-born corporal serving the royal family.
He is believed to be part of the Parachute Regiment, the elite airborne infantry regiment of the British Army.
He was the first orderly employed by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and his role involves chauffeuring and logistics.
He also drove the Duchess of Sussex and her mother, Doria Ragland, to the wedding ceremony.
