AS part of its 150 years anniversary celebration, The Fiji Times is giving one of its lucky readers a trip of a lifetime to watch the Hong Kong Sevens tournament next week.
The Fiji Times marketing manager, Annie Robinson, yesterday thanked readers for participating in the promotion.
“We would like to thank readers that took time out to enter this promotion. It was run over three months to kick-start the year and we received many entries over that period,” said Robinson.
“The number of entries received was overwhelming and we are very thankful,” she said.
The winner of the promotion is Salaivalu Kubutorotoro of Nasomo Village in Vatukoula after the entries were drawn last week at The Fiji Times headquarters in Suva.
The 26-year-old travelled to Tavua Town every Saturday to buy past copies of The Fiji Times.
She walked 10 minutes to the nearest bus stop for the 50 minutes trip to the Gold Mine Town.
“I paid the shopkeeper for the week’s supply of The Fiji Times and cut the coupons and sent them to The Fiji Times Suva office by Post Fiji,” Kubutorotoro said.
“I could not believe it when I got a call from Suva that I had won. I was so excited and rang my husband Mesake who is employed on Malolo Island to relay to him the good news,” she said.
“Our lucky winner has won herself a trip for two to this year’s Hong Kong Sevens,” said Robinson.
“Her prize includes return airfares, airport transfers to Hong Kong, four nights’ accommodation at the 5-star Regal Hong Kong in Causeway Bay inclusive of full American buffet breakfast, three days official games tickets and $1000 spending money,” said Robinson.
“We would again like to thank all our readers for entering the promotion,” she said.
