Fiji is best says Fatani

FIJI is a best place to develop rugby players says Tonga A coach and former Suva rugby captain Isi Fatani.

Fatani coached Tonga A in the 2018 World Rugby Pacific Challenge which ended at the ANZ Stadium in Suva on Saturday.

“We could not win, but we got a lot of experience from the competition,” Fatani said.

“When we get back to Tonga to prepare the team to play in Australia and maintain the squad, but they want more skills and experience of such kind of tournaments.

“The players need high level competition because in Tonga the level of rugby is very low.”

Fatani said cyclone Gita also affected their preparation as the players had to be sent home to be with their families.

“I am happy to bring them to Fiji to help them develop their talent for future.

“By coming to Fiji it helps the players and the team because we have some potential players and we need to develop their talents.

“We have a slow development, but in Fiji the players are fast learners.”

Tonga A lost to Fiji Warriors 57-7 yesterday.

The Mosese Voka-captained Warriors side has been the Pacific Challenge champion for the past three years.
