FOOTBALL fans can expect two exciting encounters when the semi-finals of the 2026 Extra Battle of the Giants are played at Four R Stadium at Govind Park in Ba tomorrow.
Group A winner Global Care Suva FC will face hosts Dayals Steel Ba FC in the opening semi-final at 2pm, before Stratum/PPCL Rewa FC takes on Nasinu FC at 4.30pm.
Fiji Football Association CEO Mohammed Yusuf said the four teams had earned their places in the knockout stage after an exciting three days of pool competition.
“We witnessed three days of competitive football during the pool stage, and the four best teams have qualified for the semi-finals.
“Fans can expect two thrilling matches because every team will be fighting for a place in the final.
“We encourage football supporters from around the country to come to Ba with their families and enjoy another exciting weekend of football,” Yusuf said.
Suva enters the knockout stage after recording impressive victories over Blue Gas Navua FC and defending champion Extra Supermarket Labasa FC.
Coach Pita Rabo’s side scored seven goals in its three pool matches and will now face a determined Ba side in front of its home supporters.
The Men in Black secured their semi-final berth with victories over Tagimoucia Kava Nadi FC and Khelvin Engineering Lautoka FC.
Under coach Ravinesh Kumar, Ba has already won the BiC Fiji FACT and Extra Premier League titles this season and remains in contention for a third major trophy.
The second semi-final promises another intriguing contest, with nine-time champion Rewa facing tournament surprise package Nasinu. Rewa topped Group B after convincing victories over Lautoka and Ba. The Delta Tigers will be eager to bounce back after suffering a narrow 0-1 defeat to Nadi in their final pool match.
Nasinu has been one of the tournament’s surprise packages, recovering from an opening loss to Labasa to register consecutive victories over Navua and Suva.
The Giant Killers will feature in their first BOG semi-final since 2019. With defending champion Labasa eliminated during the pool stage, a new champion will be crowned this year.
The winners of tomorrow’s semi-finals will meet in the grand final at 3pm on Sunday.
