The Fiji Football Association has reminded football fans hoping to watch the much anticipated clash between hosts Lautoka and neighbours Ba to be mindful of the health and hygiene measures in place.
Fiji FA CEO, Mohammed Yusuf said “The patrons are advised to strictly adhere to the social distancing measures that are in place. We met with the Lautoka City Council yesterday (Monday). Only 650 people will be allowed to sit in the main grandstand, whoever goes first; 1200 patrons will be able to occupy the wooden pavilion whilst the rest can watch the match from the embankment.”
Mr Yusuf there is an ample space to cater for the football fanatics in the two neighbouring towns.
“Up to 4000 fans can watch the match from the embankment,” he quipped.
All the football fans have also been reminded about the importance of consuming kava from their own bilos.
It is expected that mandatory temperature testing will also be conducted.
Yusuf reiterated that patrons will be scrutinised with the careFIJI app on their smartphones or the necessary identification cards.
“Failure to comply will result in non-admittance to the ground,” he stated.
The Lautoka-Ba match will kick-off at 6pm tomorrow (today) at Churchill Park.
