They also beat Samoa Fiji 26-17.

Captain Paula Dranisinukula said the players were happy to secure a spot in next year’s Olympic Games.

“We really worked hard for it to qualify for the Olympic Games and we did it,” Drainisinukula said.

“We will go back home and prepare for it.”

Fiji Rugby Union CEO John O’Connor has congratulated the team and the next aim is to win the HSBC 7s series which is the bigger picture.

According to HSBC World Series website, Fiji’s hopes of winning the series were nearly dented straight up as Kenya ran them all the way in their section opener.

Dranisinukula eventually edged them home 24-17 and they joined France in winning their first contest beating Samoa 22-14.
